To: All former Williams football players, Assistant Coaches and friends of Coach Bob Odell
Our father is going to have his 90th birthday on March 5, 2012. While he is having some health challenges, he is still hanging in there and doing reasonably well. We will be celebrating his birthday on the weekend of March 3,4 in the Philadelphia area.
My wife (Suzanne) and siblings (Nancy, Cindy) would be greatly appreciative if you could take some time to write a personal note to him. I think it would mean a lot to him and our Mom. The note/letter need not be long.
We know how many lives he has touched over the years in such a positive way, in the same way, although not on the national stage, as did Joe Paterno. Dad has always lived his values of honesty, courage, determination, sincerity and not quitting under fire. We know he would appreciate hearing from you; perhaps you could let him know how he has helped you in your life.
We know everyone is busy, and we appreciate the time you may be able to take to do this for him. We will make it very easy for you by supplying the paper and return envelope with postage. Time is of the essence, since we only have 3 1/2 weeks to accomplish this. We would like to receive the notes back by February 25 if possible so we can bind them for presentation to him the next weekend.
If you would be so kind as to supply my wife with your name and preferred mailing address, we would be most appreciative. We will then send to you the packet as described above. Email your mailing (“snail mail”) address to Suzanne at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you would like to mail the note directly, our mailing address is 9632 Grand Isle Ln, Las Vegas, NV 89144.
Thanks very much,
Bob Odell, Jr. & Suzanne Reed Odell
