Rob Hyland came to Williams College from St. Louis, Missouri. For three years he started on the Eph offensive line at left guard and in his four years Williams compiled an impressive record of 28-3-1, including an improbable stunner over Amherst in 1996 on the Lord Jeffs' Pratt Field.
Williams drove 98 yards in the final 5 minutes in 1996 to shock Amherst that day 19-13. The Eph game-winning drive ended Amherst's bid for a perfect season and was registered against the leading defense in NCAA Division III.
A touch of irony -- a history major at Williams, Hyland's favorite professor was Bob Dalzell (a graduate of Amherst College).
Hyland has been the lead producuer of Notre Dame telecasts on NBC since 2009. Click HERE to see an interview with Hyland that appeared on the official blog for Notre Dame sports recently.
