WILLIAMSTOWN, MA – Williams College first year golfer Sam Goldenring (Florham Park, NJ) has been named a Ping Honorable Mention All-American.

Eph head coach Josh Hillman has now had an Eph player earn All-America honors in each of the last three years, which is a Williams record.

At the NCAA Championships in Howey-in-the-Hills, FL where the Ephs finsihed 16th out of 42 teams, Goldenring led the Ephs with a four-round total of 301, which put him 13 over par.

Previously Goldenring was named to the six-man National DIII All-Freshman Team, the Ping-All Northeast Region Team, and was a Second Team All-NESCAC honoree.

"Sam had a nice NCAA Championship experience and earned this honor," said Hillman. "He quickly became one of the best if not the best on the team this year. His biggest strength is his motivation to put in the time and do the work. That allows him to have confidence in what he is doing and then he makes it happen."

"When Sam tee's it up he expects a par round or better every time, and he produces," said Hillman. "Yes, there was a learning curve last fall with a few odd rounds but those are now well in his rearview mirror. "
