WILIAMSTOWN, MA – George McCormack's Williams men's lacrosse team (7-8/4-6 NESCAC) has been seeded seventh in the NESCAC Tournament and the Ephs will travel Saturday to play at second seeded Wesleyan (14-1/9-1 NESCAC) at 1:00 p.m.
The Ephs have lost their last three games, but back on April 8th they gave Wesleyan a scare in Middletown when they lost 11-8. In the regular season matchup the Ephs opened up a 4-2 lead over the Cardinals midway through the second quarter with goals from four different players.
Wesleyan then scored four of the next five goals to establish a 9-5 lead over the Ephs and Williams not closer than a 3-goal deficit the rest of the way.
Wesleyan enters Saturday's contest in possession of a 14-game win streak.
The Eph attack feature four players with at least 23 goals. Senior attack Michael Fahey leads the Ephs in goals (45), assists (27) and points with 782. First year attack Kevin Stump has netted 36 goals and assisted on nine for 45 points.
First year George Peele has allowed 12.56 goals a game this spring, made 177 saves, and sports a save percentage of 49.0
