Ephs Edge Cal Lutheran

THOUSAND OAKS, CA-- The Williams Men's Tennis team scraped past Cal Lutheran Friday to finish off their spring break trip.

The Ephs fell behind 2-1 after doubles play. The number two team of Felix Sun and Matt Micheli saved Williams from a sweep, taking their pro-set by the comfortable score of 8-2.

Needing a strong performance in singles play, the bottom three elevated their play. Zach Weiss, Bryan Chow, and Will Petrie all earned straight set victory. Weiss and Chow each won by a score of 6-3, 6-3. Petrie lost even fewer games on his road to victory, taking his match 6-2, 6-0.

Felix Sun earned the crucial fifth point with a 6-4, 6-3 win at numnber two.

"We definitely started out flat today, but eventually engaged and pulled out a very tough match. Overall, it was a great trip for us, we took out five great teams, and each match showed us where we need to improve going forward," commented head coach Dan Greenberg after the match.

The win concludes the Ephs spring break trip, and send them back to Williamstown sporting a 6-0 record, and overall record of 8-0, and the number three ranking nationally. Williams will travel to Skidmore on April 7, before their home opener against Middlebury April 13.
