Felix Sun Ousted in NCAA Singles Quarterfinals
CARY, NC – Williams College men's tennis number two singles player Felix Sun has been ousted from the NCAA Singles Tournament after suffering a straight set loss to Rob Crampton of Bates.
Crampton eliminated Sun by winning the first set 6-3 and then outlasting Sun in the second set 7-5.
Sun lost but twice this spring in 24 matches and the irony is both of the losses have been to Crampton. On April 30th in a match played at Bates in Lewiston, ME, Crampton also prevailed over Sun in straight sets, 7-6, 6-1.
"Felix played well," noted Eph head coach Dan Greenberg. "He fought really hard even though he was tired. He was diving for balls and running them down. Crampton was just better and he did not make any mistakes. I was really proud of Felix's effort today."
This spring Sun fashioned a singles mark of 22-2 and earned All-America honors. Earlier this spring Sun was voted the NESCAC Player of the Year by the conference coaches.
