WILLIAMSTOWN, MA —Williams College senior Trey Meyer (New Orleans, LA) has been selected as the 2013 ITA Northeast Senior Player of the Year.
Meyer has helped guide his Ephs team to te quarterfinals of the NCAA Div. III Tournament from his one singles position. He is 13-7 against Div. III singles opponents and 16-5 in Div. III doubles play.
"He cares more about tennis then anyone," Ephs' head coach Dan Greenberg said. "He cares about the team, about his teammates, he has great energy every day, every practice. Trey gives it his all every time, some people have an on day then an off day, but not Trey. It's not surprising he's earned this for himself."
In October, Meyer and doubles partner Matt Micheli won the Division III doubles title at the USTA/ITA National Small College Championships advancing by Whitman College duo Andrew Le Cava and James Rivers 7-6 (6), 6-3. It was Meyer's second consecutive win, following the victory of himself and Bryan Chow in 2011.
In September, the Meyer-Micheli duo won the USTA/ITA New England Region Doubles Crown.
Since returning from the Ephs' spring break trip to California, Meyer is 7-2 at one singles in dual matches.
