Un-seeded Eph comes up just short

MIDDLEBURY, VT – Entering the day with one pair in the doubles semi-finals and one singles player in the semis, Williams fell just short of winning the USTA/ITA Regional Championships.

Both Williams representatives were un-seeded in the tournament, but upsets were prevalent throughout the weekend. Conrad Harron earned his spot in the finals after defeating 5th seed Palmer Campbell (MIDD) 1-6, 7-5, 6-2. Luke Trinka (BOW), yet another un-seeded player, ultimately bested him in three sets.  In doubles, the pair of Raventos/Shastri lost to Fife/Fritz (AMH), who would go on to win the tournament.  The number one seed was knocked out in the semi finals by yet another un-seeded team.

"Overall I thought this was a great weekend," said Eph head coach Dan Greenberg. "Conrad was very tough in singles and had an impressive run. Our doubles teams definitely improved as well, and everyone competed well throughout the tournament.  I think we saw that we have a lot of room to grow in a good way."
