CLAREMONT, CA – Williams College men's tennis senior captain Brian Grodecki seeded sixth in NCAA Singles Tournament has advanced to the Third Round with two straight set wins today.
Grodecki opened the day with a 6-3, 6-2 conquest of unseeded Johnny Wu from Washington University in St. Louis.
In his second match of the day Grodecki took down Emory University's Hayden Cassone 6-3, 6-1.
"Brian's playing great," noted Eph head coach Dan Greenberg. "His offense and defense have gotten better and better all year and it is awesome to see him playing his best tennis to cap off his career. We're looking forward to tomorrow's match."
Grodecki will play tomorrow at 9:00 AM PST and he will line up opposite of Nikolai Parodi, the #1 seed, from host Claremont Mudd Scripps (CMS) on Parodi's home courts.
Almost two months ago exactly, back on March 27, Grodecki lost to Parodi on the same courts during the Ephs' spring break trip to California. The #11 ranked Ephs upset #3 ranked CMS 5-4 and Grodecki downed Parodi 6-4, 4-6, 6-3.
