Even Though He Graduated Over A Month Ago Tobias Muellers '18 Still Garnering Recognition

WILLIAMSTOWN, MA – Williams College track & field standout Tobias Muellers'18, winner of the NCAA DIII decathlon was named to Sports Illustrated's "Faces in the Crowd" in the magazine's July 16th issue. 

Mullers was recently named to the NCAA DIII Cross Country/Track & Field Academic All-America First Team and also named the Men's NCAA DIII Academic All-America of the Year in Cross Country/Track & Field. He is a two-time First Team Academic All-American in track & field and he has earned All-America honors twice indoors in the heptathlon and twice outdoors in the decathlon.

Additionally, Muellers also earned Third Team Academic All-America honors in soccer. He was a four-year letterman in soccer, indoor track & field, and outdoor track & field and as a senior he was a captain of all three teams. 

Muellers owns the Williams record in the heptathlon (5,068 points) and the decathlon (6,969 points). 

Forty-six Ephs have appeared in the "Faces in the Crowd" section of Sports Illustrated magazine since August of 1989; seven coaches and 39 athletes.

Head men's & women's swimming coach Steve Kuster and ultra-marathoner Nikki Kimball '93 (skier/w x-c) appeared in consecutive issues in 2012.

Women's swimming & diving has had the most honorees: four swimmers, one diver, and two coaches.

To date 23 Eph women and 23 men have been honored.
