Hanover, NH – The second day of the Dartmouth Carnival unfolded with 5/10k skate races. Fast conditions made for some exciting racing.
On the men's side, Nick Gardner '19 led the way in 8th, his best finish of his career. He was followed by Braden Becker '19 and Jack Schrupp '18 in 25th and 27th. Henry McGrew '21 and Dylan Syben '20 finished seconds apart in 40th and 41st. Also finishing strong for the Ephs were Jack Consenstien '20, Evan Carr '19, and Franklin Reilly '21. They finished in 50th, 64th, and 103rd. The men's team finished the weekend in 4th.
On the women's side, Carmen Bango '20 led the way in 14th. Hot on her heels were Sonya Jampel '19 and Ingrid Thyr '20. They finished in 15th and 19th. The women's team, like the men's team, finished the day in 4th. Eph head Nordic Coach Jason Lemieux, exhausted after hours of testing skis, remarked, "It was awesome to put three women in the top 15 for collegiate racers. We have built great momentum, and are ready to crush the Williams Carnival!"
Carnival racing action continues next weekend with the Williams Carnival! The Ephs look forward to racing in front of their friends and families on their home course at Propsect Mountain in Woodford, VT.
Loyal ski team fan Abby Miller said she cannot wait to see the purple cows hit the trails.
