Incoming Eph Swimmer Faye Sultan to Make History at 2012 Olympics

Faye Sultan will be the first female swimmer to represent Kuwait in the Olympic Games when she competes in the 2012 Olympics in London.

In late August Sultan will join the Class of 2016 at Williams College. This winter Sultan will compete on the Eph swim team, which finished second last season at the NCAA Division III Championships.

Sultan will compete in the 50m freestyle event in London on Friday, August 3rd. She started swimming at age nine, but had left competitive swimming a few years ago to pursue dance only to return to swimming three years ago.

As Kuwait's only female swimmer, she trains with the Kuwaiti men's team.

Sultan made history on August 3rd when she finished 7th in the 5th heat of the 50 freestyle in a time of 27.92, placing her 48th in the field of 73.
