Medford, MA – Playing their thirteenth match of the season today against NESCAC opponent Tufts (7-6/1-2 NESCAC), the Ephs (13-0/3-0 NESCAC) extended their perfect record to 13-0.

Despite a few alterations to the line-up, the result remained the same: victory. Williams did not lose a single match, making the final score 9-0.  Kathleen Elkins and Maria Pylypiv played in the number one doubles position, and certainly proved they were up to the task. They dispatched the Tufts pair of Bowman/Baum 8-4.  The first-year pair of Alex Stone and Linda Shin also impressed in the second spot, winning 8-3.  Hannah Atkinson and Maya Hart also won their doubles match 8-4.

In singles, Williams won every match in straight sets. There were a couple close matches – Shoemaker and Pastor both needing tiebreakers to capture victory – but, overall, the Ephs played with consistent confidence. “We played a slightly different line-up today and everyone stepped up nicely,” said coach Alison Swain.

Tomorrow, the Ephs host their first home match of the season as they take on Hamilton at 10am and Trinity at 2pm.
