A Morning Session in the Williams Sports Performance Tent

WILLIAMSTOWN, MASS. – The COVID-19 pandemic has caused many changes in the Williams College Athletic Department from the cancellation of all fall sports competitions to the closing of all of the Eph indoor athletic facilities through December 2020.

Teams that would normally practice or workout in the various indoor facilities have been forced outside to train. In addition, the Performance Center in Lasell Gym where all Williams teams train during preseason and in season is closed, which prompted the creation of the Williams Sports Performance Tent on the visitor’s side of Farley-Lamb Field located inside the Weston Field Athletic Complex.

Eph head strength and conditioning coach Rob Livingstone and his staff greet the arriving team members, remind them of the safety procedures within the tent, and then guide them through their workouts.

Each day the sports performance equipment has to be unloaded from the storage locker outside the tent and set up to be used by Eph athletes from 8:00 AM until 6:00 PM. At day’s end all of the equipment then needs to be loaded back into the locker and secured for the next day. This cycle is repeated Monday through Friday each week.

The Williams Athletic Department, Williams Sports Performance Staff, and the Williams Facilities Department have teamed up to keep all of the Eph teams prepared for their next competitive season. Rob Livingstone is most appreciative of the support he and his staff have received from the Williams Athletics Department and the Williams Facilities Department in keeping the Ephs ready to compete.
