Ali Piltch '14 from Eph Sports Info to Consultant at Bain & Company Boston

Current Job Title:  Consultant at Bain & Company in Boston

I joined Bain's Boston office after graduating from Williams in 2014. I went back to school for my MBA and a Master's in Education Policy and returned to Bain this past summer. While in school, I did my summer internship at an impact investing VC fund focused on education, the environment and safety. I also did an externship at an education non-profit focused on talent in the ed sector before business school.

Williams graduation year:  2014

Sport(s) played at Williams:  Lacrosse

Degree you earned at Williams: Majored in Psychology and Economics

How you got involved in Eph Sports Information:  My older brother Matt wrote for Sports Info, and as a lover of sports, I knew I wanted to get involved as soon as I started at Williams. DQ was nice enough to find a spot for me keeping the book and writing about the women's soccer team. The rest is history!

What were your duties in Ephs Sports Information:  I covered the women's soccer team for all four years. My freshman, junior and senior years I also wrote for the men's basketball team (and was the official scorekeeper for some of those years as well). My brother was two classes ahead of me, so when he returned from Oxford my sophomore year, he reclaimed men's basketball coverage, and I was lucky enough to cover the women's basketball team for a season. I truly think I got to cover three of the best programs at Williams!

Favorite Eph Sports Information memory:  This is really, really hard to choose because so many of the teams I covered were exceptional, and it was a lot of fun to watch them play. I think probably going getting to see several of the teams beat Amherst – especially at Amherst – has to be one of the highlights. Having never beaten Amherst in my own playing days, I really enjoyed living vicariously through the teams I covered!

Fun Fact:  When Ali won The Frank Deford Award in 2014 it marked the first time that siblings had won The Frank Deford Award as her brother Matt won in 2012.
