Jill Campbell, former Williams women's ice hockey assistant coach, returns to the Purple Valley as the assistant to the director of operations in the Williams College Department of Athletics.
"I'm pleased to announce that Jill Campbell has been named as the Assistant to the Director of Operations and the Williams NCAA Women and Ethnic Minority Intern," said Williams Athletic Director Lisa Melendy. "She distinguished herself as intelligent, inquisitive, and hard-working during the search process. I'm sure she will be able to both assist Gary Guerin in the work he currently does in athletic operations as well as undertake new initiatives that will benefit the department and our work."
Campbell, a 2011 graduate of Bowdoin College, spent one year on the Ephs' coaching staff, followed by a head coaching stint down the turnpike at Nichols College before pursuing a Master's degree in sport management at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Most recently, Campbell served as an intern in the Williams athletic and sports information departments in completing her Master's.
Campbell was instrumental in editing the College's "You Can Play" video, writing releases, compiling the first NCAA Division III ice hockey record books for Eph men's and women's ice hockey during her three-month internship.
"It is with great pleasure and excitement that I return to the Williams athletic department," said Campbell. "The extraordinary drive and success of the student-athletes make the College a great place to work and I am looking forward to the chance to contribute to this community. I want to thank the search committee for their support and the NCAA for providing this opportunity."
The position at Williams is one of eighteen nationwide supported by the NCAA as part of the NCAA Division III Ethnic Minority and Women's Internship program. A two-year internship, the grant provides professional development and networking opportunities for recipients.
