Middlebury, VT—Middlebury sophomore,
Madeleine Macmillan, scored the game-winner with just 3 minutes
into play, putting Middlebury up over Williams College, 1-0.
Conference foe, Middlebury College, is now 8-2, while the Ephs
dropped to a 7-4 overall record.
The Panthers scored the early goal, by capitalizing off a scramble
in front of the net. But the Ephs quickly settled down, playing a
very defensive first half against a quick and talented Middlebury
Squad.
Williams came out strong in the 2nd half, spending much more time
in the offensive zone, but failed to score against Middlebury.
Head coach Alix Rorke was generally pleased the Ephs play, "we had
opportunities and played competitively against a very talented
team", said Coach Rorke. She liked the improvement the team made
from the 1st to 2nd half, "we played a great 2nd half…I just
wish we had scored", she said.
The Ephs will return home to Renzie Lamb Field to play Tufts on
Saturday, the 20th, at 1:00 p.m.
