Box Score
Keene, NH—Coming off their first home
game of the season, the Williams College women's field hockey team
won its third away game and increased its record to 4-0 with a 3-0
victory at Keene State (3-2).
Junior Jess Overlander scored the first goal of the night,
assisted by Julia Nawrocki with 13:01 left in the first half.
Sophomore Anne de Saint Phalle scored an unassisted goal putting
the Ephs up 2-0 at the end of the first half.
The Ephs spent most of the second half in the offensive zone.
Senior Cary Bearn scored the final goal with 12:39 left in the
game.
Sophomores Lindsey Jones and Bethany Baker split time in the goal
this evening, both playing 35 minutes. Jones made 2 saves in the
first half and Baker faced no shots.
The Ephs played well against a strong Owl defense, especially in
the 2nd half. "It took us a while to make things happen, but then
we really turned things on in the second half", said Head Coach
Alix Rorke. The Ephs compiled 9 shots in the 1st half and 11 in the
2nd half, out shooting the Owls 20-3.
Once again, every player on the roster saw time on the field,
"everybody contributed…we really have some depth on this
team," said Coach Rorke.
The Ephs will play their second home game of the season, under the
lights on Renzie Lamb Field, this Thursday at 7:00. Coach Rorke is
looking forward to the test that an experienced Clark University
team will bring, "I'm excited to see how we play against them", she
said.
