SPRINGFIELD, MA- The Williams College men's swimming and
diving team (7-0) continued it's regular season dominance with
twelve event victories en route to a 192-106 victory over
Springfield. The Ephs have now won an impressive fourteen
straight dual meets.
"As far as the overall performance today I would call it solid,"
said head coach Steve Kuster. "We had a bunch of people left
at home under the weather and several at the meet fighting through
sickness. Given it's the end of our hardest 4 weeks of
training, I would say the group swam well."
Top Eph performers on the day were senior Chris Millen and
junior Norman Scott, who both won two events on the day.
Millen placed first in the 100 yard backstroke (55.27) and the 200
yard breaststroke (2:16.05), while Scott bested the field in the
200 yard freestyle (1:46.01) and the 500 yard freestyle (4:49.03).
The strong senior class for the Ephs also had big contributions
as Ben Bullitt, Henry Felker, and Alex Wentworth-Ping all posted
event victories. Bullitt took first in the 100 yard freestyle
(10:08.61), Felker swam the fastest in the 100 yard breaststroke
(1:01.29), and Ping won the 200 yard butterfly (1:57.15).
Rounding out the event victories for the Ephs were junior David
Lebovitz in the 200 yard backstroke (2:00.32), junior Tim Ryan in
the 100 yard butterfly (53.12), junior Tyler Bonewell in the 200
yard IM (2:01.68), and first year Ben Wampler in the 50 yard
freestyle (21.17).
The Ephs next see action on February 2nd with a home
meet against NESCAC rival Middlebury
