Day One of Middlebury Invitational

Complete Results

Middlebury, VT – The first round of the tournament hosted by Middlebury College concluded with a late finish. “The course played pretty tough,” remarked Coach Herman. The slick greens, a product of the recent rain, resulted in a challenging day one for the Ephs. Despite the difficulties, the majority of the team shot under 90. Senior Melissa Barton and junior Anne O'Leary shot a pair of 85s. Junior Mary Gelber was just one stroke behind with a score of 86. Freshman Kristen Tubbs contributed an 89.

Together, the team sits in fifth place with a total score of 345 - just five strokes behind rival Amherst who claimed the fourth spot (340). The hosts Middlebury finished the day first with a team score of 332. Mount Holyoke is a close second (334) and St. Lawrence rounds out the top three with a 335.

The Middleburry Invitational will complete play with round two held Sunday.
