HARTFORD, Conn – Ryan Masucci recorded
two goals in the games first seven minutes as the Trinity
men's hockey team held on to defeat Williams 2-1 Friday
night. The Ephs failed to keep their recent momentum going and fall
to 6-9-2, while Trinity improves to 8-6-2.
Masucci recorded his first goal only 13
seconds in, when he slipped the games first shot past Eph
goaltender Marc Pulde (31 saves). Masucci would record the
game-winner only 7:17 later, when he exploited the power play and
made it 2-0.
The Ephs would respond early in the second
period when Ryan Young converted a Matt Masucci pass only 44
seconds in – plenty of time to complete the comeback.
However, despite producing a healthy twenty shots over the next 39
minutes, Bantam goaltender David Murison (24 saves) would assure
that the Ephs did not pull even.
Williams played a particular clean game
committing only four penalties for eight penalty minutes to
Trinity' s nine for eighteen minutes, however they simply
couldn't finish when they needed too.
The Ephs play tomorrow at Wesleyan at 4:00 PM.
