This week's New England Wrestling Association (NEWA) team
rankings are based on the finishes recorded at the NEWA Dual meet
this past Sunday at Roger Williams University in Bristol, RI.
The Ephs with a 10-3-1 record are now ranked third in the region
after they fell to Rhode Island College 23-17 before defeating
Springfield College to claim third place.
The third place finish by the Ephs is the highest finish Williams
has ever recorded at the NEWA Duals.
Seven Ephs are ranked this week in the region's top six in the 10
weight classifications. Sophomore Ryan Malo who has dominated the
competition at 184 stepped up to 197 on Sunday and continued his
domination and is now the top ranked wrestler in New England at
that weight.
Corey Paulish is also New England's top ranked grappler at 141.
Ethan Cohen is second at 125 as is Carl Breitenstein at 157.
Dylan Rittenburg is ranked third at 157, while both Josh Mattana
(133) and Jon Foster (165) are ranked sixth.
Next up for the Ephs is a re-match with fourth-ranked Springfield
in Lasell Gym in the Ephs lone home event of the year. You can
