New York, NY - After dropping their first match of the day to
#15 The College of New Jersey (TCNJ), the #18 Ephs bounced back
with impressive victories over New York University (NYU) and CUNY
Hunter. Corey Paulish '11 and Carl Breitenstein '10 lead the
Ephs each going undefeated on the day.
With the two wins in New York the Ephs upped their record to
17-4-1 on the year.
Breitenstein's three victories included a hard fought 2-0
decision over Josh Barnett of TCNJ, the sixth ranked wrestler in
Division III at 149 pounds. Captains Dylan Rittenburg '10 and
Ethan Cohen '09 also performed well for the Ephs, each winning two
of their three matches.
In the final match of the day Hunter's B. Scher edged the Ephs
Ryan Malo 4-3 at 197, stopping Malo's win streak at 30. Malo, a
sophomore transfer from Boston Universoty, is now 30-1 in his first
year at Williams and needs just five more wins to set the Ephs'
single season win mark.
The Ephs' final regular season dual meet will take place on
Sunday, February 8 at Wesleyan University. The Ephs will face
off with Little Three-rival Wesleyan as well as SUNY Oneonta and
Western New England College.
