Men's Squash Edged by Dartmouth

WILLIAMSTOWN-- The Williams Men's Squash team fought to the final match but came up just short in Saturday's match versus Dartmouth, losing by a final score of 5-4.

Nick Marks and Alec Greaves-Tunnell were first on the board for the Ephs, and each did so in dramatic fashion. Playing at the number three and six positions, respectively, the two fell into 2-1 holes, only to storm back and win in five thoroughly impressive games.

Julian Drobetsky was the next Eph to finish his match with a win, his also coming in five games. Drobetsky led his opponent 2-1 before dropping the fourth, but was able to recover and take his deciding game convincingly, 11-5.

Chris Wilkinson gave Williams their fourth point of the match. Wilkinson came out to a 2-1 lead, but found himself down 8-2 in his fourth game. Undettered, he fought back to take the game 13-11 to clinch the match.

Between wins were numerous close losses. Andy Maruca trailed his opponent 2-0 before storming back and winning the next two games, only to come up short in the fifth. Kevin Chen also played admirably, losing in tremendously close games. Taylor Foehl was on court last with the score tied at 4-4. He lost the first two games before taking the third, but was unable to climb back any further and lost in four.

Williams faces another stiff test in Middlebury tomorrow at home. Match time is set for 2:00 PM.
