Ephs Defeated in NESCAC Tourney by Trinity 4-1

Box Score

HARTFORD, CT – Trinity College (13-3) scored four first half goals in eliminating Williams (9-7) from the NESCAC Tournament 4-1.

Trinity's Kelcie Finn wasted no time in avenging Trinity's regular season loss to the Ephs back on September 13th (2-1 in Williamstown) by scoring a first half hat trick. Two of Finn's goals were unassisted, but on the first one at 16:06 Olivia Tapsall was credited with an assist.

Just 21 seconds after her first score Finn was back in the scorebook again upping the Bantams' lead to 2-0, notching her first unassisted tally (16:27). Finn's second unassisted goal and third of the game came at 19:18.

The Bantams' fourth and final goal came at 33:45 when Samantha Sandler scored an unassisted goal.

Williams fought valiantly to get back in the contest and got one goal back early in the second half when Hannah Goodrick converted off a pass from Kate Pattison at 44:04.

Both teams had 12 shots on the day and Trinity goalkeeper Sophie Fitzpatrick stopped seven of the eight Eph shots on goal, while Eph netminder Margaret Draper stopped three of seven shots on goal by the Bantams.

All seven of the Eph losses this year have come at the hands of nationally ranked teams.
