Hartford, CT -- The Ephs played the 12th ranked Drexel Dragons today in the first round of Nationals. The Williams Men knew that it would be a tough match going into it, but played well and fought hard. Previously this season, the Dragons beat the Ephs 6-3, with alot of close matches. Both teams knew it would be an extremely close match going into it.
The middle court captured two victories for the Ephs, as John Shuck '17 downed his opponent in a quick four games, and afterwards, Galen Squiers '16 played outstanding Squash in order to defeat his opponent in four games as well.
On the bottom court, Jamie Havran '18 played outstanding squash to keep the Ephs hopes alive. His decisive victory was crucial, as it evened the match score at three a piece.Unfortunately, The Dragons swept the final round of matches, securing the victory for Drexel 6-3.
Tomorrow, the Ephs face Bates in the consolation semi-final. Earlier this season Williams beat Bates 5-4, so the match should also be close.
