Williams Men Fall to F&M 6-3

Williamstown, MA-- On the heels of two close losses earlier in the weekend, the Ephs were hungry for another chance to get back onto the squash courts. That came, as the 10th ranked F&M Diplomats traveled to Williamstown to play the Ephs. The match was very close from the beginning, but unfortunately a few close matches went to F&M and the Ephs closed out the weekend without a win. Coach Levy was very happy with how the team played, however, saying: "this is a different team than we had a week ago against Bates. I am really happy with the performances this weekend, and am excited to see what this team can do during the second half of the season." 

The Ephs saw great performances from Jamie Ruggiero '17 (#1), who won in four games over a top-40 player in college squash. John Fitzgerald '19 (#2) finished off the weekend with another great performance, unfortunately losing in five games. The Ephs also received points from John Shuck '17 (#4) and David Pincus '19 (#6), who both played well, each finishing off their opponents in three games. In the exhibition match, Drew Litvin '18 (#10) also played good squash, controlling the match and winning 3-0. 

After losing close matches to both Navy and GW this weekend, alot of the season depends on next week's match against the Middlebury Panthers. The Ephs need a win in order to secure a top-two seed in the NESCAC championship, and to secure a place in the B-division of nationals. The match will be played Saturday at the Simon Squash Center, at 2pm.
