LANCASTER, PA - The men's squash team lost Friday afternoon to Franklin and Marshall 7-2. This is the first of their matches in a three day weekend including a match Saturday against George Washington University and a match Sunday against the Naval Academy.
Playing on three courts with exhibition matches on the fourth and fifth courts, the Ephmen began with Will Means '20, Claude Smith '20, and Andrew Litvin '18 at the 3, 6, and 9 spots respectively. The first round of matches were straight losses with all three Ephmen losing in three games. The next round of matches at spots 2, 5, and 8, managed two wins. Carl Shuck '20 and Mason Elizondo '18 won at the 5 and 8 spots in four games each, capping both of the wins for the night against the Diplomats. John Fitzgerald '19 lost at the 2 spot in a thrilling four games.
The last round of matches at spots 1, 4, and 7 were all losses but well fought by Jamie Ruggiero '17, John Shuck '17 and Will Ruggiero '19.
Coach Zafi Levy said regarding the match, "I am disappointed that we could not pull out some more games and possibly more matches in our match tonight, but I am continually impressed with the level of effort the boys are putting in to the matches including the one tonight."
The men's squash team will face George Washington University tomorrow at 2pm.
