PHILADELPHIA, PA - In the first match of two in Philly on Sunday, Williams were blanked 9-0 by Drexel.
At the bottom of the lineup, senior captain Jamie Havran (#8) and junior Oscar Merino each lost 3-0 in tough matches. At #7, Claude Smith fought hard but eventually fell 3-1 to another tough opponent. In the middle of the lineup, junior David Pincus (#4) and senior captain Mason Elizondo (#5) were each beaten 3-0. AJ Solecki was also defeated in a hard-fought 4 games. At the top of the lineup, sophomores Will Means (#1) and Carl Shuck (#2) and freshman Wyatt Khosrowshahi (#3) all played hard but came out second best in 3-0 defeats.
Junior Pat Smith had this to say after the match: "We made a valiant effort against a team stacked with some of the most talented players in college squash. Every Williams player should be proud today."
