Big Green Too Deep For Ephs

WILLIAMSTOWN, MA - In the Ephs last match of 2017, a home encounter with Dartmouth the team always knew would be tough, the Ephs fought hard but were bested 9-0 by the Big Green.

First on court were freshman Wyatt Khosrowshahi (#3), sophomore Claude Smith (#6), and senior captain Andrew Litvin (#9). All three played hard but were ultimately dispatched by 3-0 by a set of tough Dartmouth opponents. Next on were sophomores Carl Shuck (#2) and David Pincus (#5), along with senior captain Jamie Havran (#8). Pincus was defeated by a scoreline of 3-0. Shuck and Havran each put up great fights and each won a game off their opponents, but were eventually beaten 3-1. The last wave of play included sophomore Will Means (#1), freshman AJ Solecki (#4), and senior captain Mason Elizondo (#7). The three Ephs faced another set of strong Dartmouth players, and were each defeated 3-0. In fairness, Means was struggling slightly with an ankle injury.

After the match, senior captain Mason Elizondo had this to say: "It's been a tough stretch in our schedule playing against a series of top ten teams in the nation, but the team has been playing well and this looks like it will leave us well prepared for tough matches in January."

This was the last of the Ephs' matches of 2017. The team will be back in action on January 6 at home to Middlebury.
