Ephs Bested by No. 9 Drexel 7-2

WILLIAMSTOWN, MA - The Men's team rallied for another match against a quality opponent, the No. 9 Drexel Dragons. On first was Anand Butler '19 (#9), David Pincus '20 (#6), and Wyatt Khosrowshahi '21 (#3). Butler carried his momentum from his win yesterday against Columbia, delivering a valuable point to open the match. Pincus and Khosrowshahi were bested in three and four games, respectively. Krish Bhavnani '22 (#8), A.J. Solecki '21 (#5), and Jacob Bassil '22 (#2) were on second round. Showcasing the Men's depth in the lineup, Bhavnani battled back from a two-game deficit, winning a five game thriller against a quality opponent. Solecki was outplayed by a a very strong opponent, but was neck and neck throughout the match and had opportunity to extend the match beyond three games. Similarly, Bassil challenged his opponent in a lengthy and close four game dual. Co-Captain Ben Eisenberg '19 (#7), William Means '20 (#4), and Co-Captain John Fitzgerald '19 (#1) started their matches while the score was 4-2 Drexel, allowing for the possibility of a win with three straight wins. Eisenberg, up 2-1, ultimatley was edged in a spectacular 11-9 fifth game finish. Means fell 3-0 to a strong opponent, while Fitzgerald was defeated in an exciting and close four gamer.

The Men will complete the weekend's matches against Tufts tomorrow at 3:00pm in the Simon Squash Center.
