WILLIAMSTOWN, MA - At 2:00pm the Ephs concluded their regular season with a home match at the Simon Squash Center, which was senior day. The match format was a three-court system with number nine, six, and three opening up the match. The Ephs got off to a hot start with convincing three-game wins from Krish Bhavnani '22 (#6) and Carl Shuck '20 (#3). Co-Captain Ben Eisenberg '19 (#9) added another point to the tally by winning an eccentric, to say the least, four gamer over an opponent who was hitting 'tweeners left and right.
At 3-0 Ephs, MIT struck back with a win at number two after Wyatt Khosrowshahi '21 (#2) was edged out in three super tight games. David Pincus '20 (#8) and Jacob Bassil '19 both pulled out five game victories against their opponents, putting the Ephs at the necessary five point mark to seal the win.
In the last round of matches, William Means '20 (#4) retired midway through his third game after trailing 2-0. Co-Captain John Fitzgerald '19 (#1) beat his opponent in three games, making the score 6-2 Ephs. To conclude the match, A.J. Solecki '21 (#7) was up 2-0 before dropping the next two only to fend off his opponent in the fifth, 11-4, delivering the 7-2 win.
Next weekend, men's squash will be on the road to Yale to compete in the National Championships.
