HADLEY, MA — Six Members of the Williams College Men's Lacrosse program have captured All-NESCAC honors for the 2021 season, including first-year Pearse Glavin being named Rookie of the Year and George McCormack being tabbed Coach of the Year for the second season in a row.

The Ephs finished the abbreviated 2021 season 4-1, losing to Tufts in the NESCAC Championship game May 8th.

All-NESCAC First Team selections included senior long stick midfielder Brian Greenstein, senior goalkeeper Harry Gahagan and first year defenseman Sam Cragin. Senior attack Cory Lund was a Second Team election.

"I am very proud of our players and assistant coaches this year," McCormack said. "They maintained their focus and grit regardless of the setbacks we encountered.  We always trusted in the process and each other and that lead to one heck of a journey."

Glavin, who started all five games for Williams, ranked fifth among the assist leaders in the NESCAC with 10 in his first collegiate season. He added 11 goals on the year to finish second among the Ephs in scoring with 21 points and was third on the squad in ground balls (13). Glavin is the second straight Eph to earn NESCAC Rookie of the Year honors and third Eph overall (David Hawley – 2008; Jake Haase – 2019). Gahagan started all 5 games in goal for the Ephs, playing all but 6 1/2 minutes this season. He finished with a 10.70 goals against average (4th in NESCAC), a .551 save percentage (5th among NESCAC regulars) and 65 saves, or 13 saves per game, which was 3rd in the conference. He finished his Williams career with a 26-6 (.813 win pct.) mark in goal for the Ephs.

Greenstein also started all 5 games for the Ephs, and led the team in ground balls (25) and caused turnovers (eight) while scoring four goals this season. He finished his Eph career with seven goals, 73 ground balls and 21 caused turnovers. Cragin's skill is marking up an opposing team's top scorer each game, and he excelled at that in his first season while causing 5 turnovers, third on the team, and picking up three ground balls.

Lund finished his final season with the Ephs with a team-leading 17 goals and 24 points along with seven assists. Four of his goals came in man-up situations, also a team high. He had 13 ground balls, tied for third on the team. He finished his career with 122 goals, good for 5th all-time at Williams, and 162 points (10th all-time). His 64 goals in 2019 is the single-season record at Williams.

McCormack led Williams to the NESCAC Championship Game for the second year in a row and an unbeaten mark in the NESCAC West division. He garners the NESCAC Coach of the Year honor for the second consecutive season and fourth time overall (2008, 2014, 2019) since arriving at Williams in 2003.
