EPHS FALL TO CORNELL 8-1

ITHICA, NY. – This Saturday, Williams faced off against Cornell at their home courts with a number of parents and student fans watching. Assistant Coach Blair Dils said "It's always great to get to play teams in the top 8. Despite the score, we had a number of strong performances".

First up for the Ephs was William Evans, who lost 3-0 to a skilled player. Alex Akbari and Pierce Henderson both put up a good fight with close games in each match, with Alex having the longest match of the day at 48 minutes.

Next up was Udai Pal, who ran neck and neck with a strong opponent in the second game, but ultimately lost 3-0. Leonard Lee also lost 3-0 to a skilled opponent, however, first-year Asher Leavy had an impressive performance, winning 3-0 and taking the only win of the day.

Last up for the purple cows was Andrew Minnis, John Nicholson, and Jack Lee. Andrew lost 3-0, John had a close second game but ultimately lost 3-0, while Jack had a close match, taking the third 11-3 but ultimately losing in the fourth 11-7.

Tomorrow the purple cows head to Geneva, NY. to play Hobart, stay tuned for the results of that match.
