Ephs Fall to Panthers in NESCAC Final

MIDDLEBURY, VT. - Top-seeded Middlebury College Panthers claimed their sixth consecutive NESCAC title with a 4-0 win over the fourth seeded Williams College Ephs.

After an initial save from senior Gates Tenerowicz, Caroline Segal was there to slot it in, giving the Panthers a 1-0 lead at the 2:57 mark. Katie George made it 2-0 for the Panthers with 5:40 left to play in the first quarter. 

The Panthers went into the halftime break maintaining the 2-0 lead. 

At the 39:35 mark, Amy Griffin's second shot off a penalty corner made it 3-0 in favor of the Panthers. Lilly Branka scored the final goal of the day to make it 4-0 at the 49:34 with a shot from the penalty kick spot.

On the day, the Panthers out shot the Ephs 30-6. Middlebury fired 15on shots  goal and Williams had on goal. Tenerowicz made 11 saves on the 15 shots she faced. 

The Ephs now await for their NCAA DIII tournament spot fate. The NCAA DIII field hockey selection show and bracket release will stream live on NCAA.com at 10:30 p.m. ET tonight (Nov. 5).
