Box Score Williamstown MA- #7 Middlebury (13-5-3, 8-3-2 NESCAC) defeats Williams (10-9-1, 5-7-1 NESCAC) 3-2 after a closely matched game, a shot in the second securing their win.
Game Highlights
- Early into the first period Middlebury was able to create a 2-on-1 attempt, skating the puck down the center of the ice, scoring from the right circle into the top shelf of the net giving them the 1-0 lead, 6:39 in the first.Â
- With less than a minute left in the first at 19:46 Middlebury was able to lengthen their lead to 2-0 after they scored with a shot from the slot.Â
- The Ephs took a penalty for checking but they came back to score a shorthanded goal halving the Panthers lead to 2-1.
Bella DeLuca shot the puck from the left face off dot, sneaking the puck between Will's pad and the post into the back of the net 4:17 into the second for her first college goal.Â
- Middlebury scored again 10:48 into the second making the score 3-1 after the puck barely slipped underneath
Erin Pye's leg pads.Â
- Williams would not go away quietly, and came back to score again at 9:03 in the third, cutting Middlebury's lead to 3-2.
Christina Halloran created an opportunity by stealing the puck and skating down the right side of the ice in a 2-on-1. She shot from the dot connecting with the back of the net right over Will's shoulder.
