EPHS DEFEAT BATES 9-0

WILLIAMSTOWN, MA - This Friday, the Ephs played Bates at their home courts to kickstart another three match weekend. They won decisively 9-0, with solid performances from each member of the team. Assistant Coach Blair Dills says that "each member of the team did their part today, at times pushing through lapses in play to earn nine wins down the ladder".

Starting off the day on the three court system was Pierce Henderson, who started strong winning his first game 11-1. However, a few deviations from his game plan cost him the second game, but he was able to get back on track and win 3-1. Jack Lee took control of the middle of the court in his match to win swiftly in three games, and Co-Captain Will Evans dropped the second game of his match, but then tightened up his game and won 3-1.

Starting off the second round for the Ephs was John Nicholson, who played at a fast pace and won in three games. Asher Leavy quickly followed suit, remaining headstrong in the third game to win it 16-14, winning his match 3-0. Nick Agger showcased his variety of skills, winning swiftly in three games.

And wrapping up the match for the Ephs were Hudson Lin, Alex Akbari, and Andrew Minnis. Hudson and Alex stuck to their gameplans to win both of their matches 3-0, utilizing their ball control and stamina. Andrew Minnis had a slow start and dropped the first game, but he quickly regrouped and closed out the match 3-1. 

It was a solid showing for Williams, with both mental and physical strength being displayed by the team. They look forward to their match tomorrow where they face off against Bowdoin at home.
