Ephs Secure 4-0 Victory Over Union College in Season Opener

SCHENECTADY, NY – The Williams College Ephs (1-0) kicked off their 2024 season, defeating Union College (1-1) by a 4-0 margin in a non-conference matchup at Frank Bailey Field.

Sophomore Haley McAuslin led the charge for the Ephs, scoring two goals and providing an assist in an impressive offensive display. Claire Colvin and Pilar Torres also found the back of the net, helping Williams outshoot Union 19-4. Key assists came from Kiki Higgins and Chloe Bush, contributing to the team's well-rounded attack.

"We did an excellent job of capitalizing in the offensive circle in the first half," remarked Ephs head coach Alix Barrale after the game. "Our defense was solid throughout, and we were able to maintain control in key moments."

Freshman goalie Ellie Smith put in a standout performance between the posts, delivering a full 60 minutes of sharp play that helped the Ephs maintain their clean sheet. Despite the win, Union College kept the pressure on, challenging Williams across the field and forcing the Ephs to fight for every possession.

The Ephs will play their next game and first NESCAC game this Saturday, September 7, when they take on Tufts at 1:00 PM at home.
