Ephs Suffer Tough Loss at Colby College

WATERVILLE, ME – The Williams College Ephs (6-8-1) played on the road against the Colby College Mules (10-4-2). Despite lots of chances, the Ephs were unable to come up with any opportunities that they would be able to fully capitalize on. They were defeated by the host Colby Mules 3-0.

The first period started off with a great first shift from Brady Welsch, Owen Stadheim, and Ziv Deener-Chodirker. The Mules were forced to respond right away in order to keep the Ephs at bay. This developed a continuous battle for momentum with the Mules taking a pair of penalties and the Ephs out shooting the Colby in the first period.

Williams came out flying in the second period looking to take back possession of the game. There were great battles up and down the ice, but the Ephs were fighting to try and get one past the Mule's goalie. There wouldn't be any Eph's goals, but the Mules managed to capitalize twice and make this game 2-0 going into the third period.

The third period did not go Williams' way. Despite out shooting the Mules again, there seemed to be something holding the Ephs back from getting on the board. The Ephs got a power play and took full advantage. There was great puck movement, but Williams still could not capitalize on their chancesresulting in a 3-0 defeat.

Eph head coach Bill Kangas had this to say after the game, "I thought there was a lot of good things we did tonight, yet Colby was able to capitalize on their chances and we didn't. I know the team will take a lot from tonight's game and will be ready for a very good Bowdoin team tomorrow."
