Ephs Fend Off #19 Ranked MIT 5-4

CAMBRIDGE, MA -- The Williams Men's Squash Team overcame a difficult challenge against the MIT, emerging victorious 5-4 from the fortress constructed by the engineers. With the win the Ephs extended their current win streak to 10 and finished the regualr season with a record of 12-3.

Junior Asher Leavy was able to win his decider match in a confident 3-0 showing. The Ephs got off to a shaky start when co-captain Jack Lee and junior Alex Akbari's games both went to five, which they were fortunately able to close out. first year Ty Green and co-captain Andrew Minnis lost their matches in nail-bititng four and five games respectively. 

In the next two matches, first year Will Newton and junior Rafay Syed swung the momentum back into the Ephs' favor with two decisive four-game victories. While junior John Nicholson and sophomore Nick Agger unfortunately fell in four and five games respectively. Asher Leavy relieved the besieged Ephs by delivering a clinical 3-0 victory.

The Ephs look to recover and get some good training in before the NESCAC Tournament begins on February 8 at Trinity College.
