Men's Squash Falls to #7 Ranked Drexel 8-1 in the 2025 CSA National Collegiate Squash Championships

Philadelphia, PA— The Williams Men's Squash Team played their first round match at the 2025 CSA National Collegiate Team Championships. The team lost 8-1 to the #7 ranked Drexel Dragons. Eph head coach Hesham Aly said "The boys played hard and kept the matches close, just needed an extra push in the latter stages of the games."

Starting off the Ephs was co-captain Andrew Minnis who played well to keep it close, but ultimately lost 3-0. Ty Green and Asher Leavy both were able to win a game, but some errors had them both lose 3-1. 

Next on court for the Ephs was Alex Akbari who lost in a tight three games. Will Newton played some really quality squash against a tough opponent, but an unlucky string pop down 10-9 in the third game found him losing in four games. In his last weekend of collegiate squash, senior and co-captain Jack Lee played one of his best matches of his career. Lee played his signature decisive, attacking squash to beat a good opponent in three games.

With the match decided before the last Ephs got on court, they were played in the best of three format. Nick Agger and Himanshu Pannu lost 2-1 and Pierce Henderson lost 2-0. 

The team looks to recover for a showdown against Dartmouth tomorrow at 3pm.
