WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - With Sunday's 8-1 victory over the Naval Academy, the #12 Williams College men's squash team completed a 3-for-3 weekend, having topped Franklin & Marshall on Friday and Dickinson on Saturday.
Navy was the highest-ranked of Williams' opponents this weekend, coming in at #15, three spots behind the #12 Ephs, but Sunday's match played out much the same as the previous two, with the Ephs' depth proving too much for their opponents.
The Ephs again took control early, winning the first three matches to take the court: Himanshu Pannu winning 3-1 at #2, and Will Newton at #5 and Rafay Syed at #9 both winning 3-0.
The second round of matches on court included Ty Green, a 3-1 winner at #7, and Alex Akbari, who won by the same score at #4. At #1, Nick Agger again ran into a difficult opponent, losing a 3-2 result in a lengthy battle that nearly tipped in his favor.
The final players on court on Sunday were Dylan Scott, winning 3-0 at #8, Leighton Calhoun, also capturing a 3-0 result at #6, and Asher Leavy, who closed the weekend out with an exciting 3-2 win at #3.
The Ephs took care of business over the weekend, and will again host next weekend, this time for a pair of NESCAC matches, facing Colby on Saturday and Bowdoin on Sunday.
