MIDDLEBURY, Vt. - The #12 Williams College men's squash team powered past #15 Middlebury College on the road on Saturday, winning 8-1 over its NESCAC rival. The win extends the Ephs' winning streak to seven matches, with two important contests coming this week.
The top player on the Ephs' ladder, Nick Agger, led the way, playing the shortest match of the day as he won 11-5, 12-10, 11-4 in 39 minutes. Several other Williams players were in similar control of their matches, as Alex Akbari, Will Newton, and Rafay Syed also all won 3-0, at spots #4, #5, and #9 respectively.
Leighton Calhoun at #6 and Ty Green at #7 battled to impressive 3-2 wins, and Asher Leavy at #3 also fought for five games but was unable to come out with the win. Himanshu Pannu at #2 and Dylan Scott at #8 both won 3-1.
The Ephs have a pair of important matches on the road this coming week, starting with a rivalry visit to #16 Amherst on Wednesday evening, followed by a battle at #11 Tufts University on Saturday.
