WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — After leading their respective programs to outstanding weeks, junior midfielder
Luca Ruta of the Williams College men's soccer team and sophomore
Katelyn Wu of the women's tennis program were named Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) Ephs of the Week Tuesday afternoon.
Ruta buried the first goal of the game for the seventh-ranked Ephs (9-1-1, 5-1-1 NESCAC) during a 3-2 triumph against Wheaton on Saturday afternoon at Cole Field. Ruta has two goals on the season and three in his career. The win against the Lyons was a great non-conference victory with Wheaton reaching the Elite Eight of the 2025 NCAA Division III Tournament.
Wu was tremendous during the New England Women's Intercollegiate Tennis Tournament (NEWITT) Friday-Sunday on the campuses of Smith and Amherst College. During the three-day tournament, she compiled a 4-0 record in singles and a 3-1 mark during doubles, advancing with her group to the championship round in the B Draw.
