CLINTON, N.Y. - The #13 Williams College men's squash team defeated #17 Middlebury College in the NESCAC Quarterfinals on the road on Saturday. The Ephs won 5-4 over its NESCAC rival, to continue to the NESCAC Semifinals tomorrow morning.
Asher Leavy led the way, playing the shortest match of the day as he won 11-2, 11-4, 11-4 in 21 minutes. Several other Williams players were in similar control of their matches, as
Alex Akbari won 3-1, William Newton 2-0, and
Leonard Lee 3-0, at spots #3, #4, and #9 respectively.
At #8,
Rafay Syed delivered a clutch five-game win to help seal the team result.
The Ephs continue tournament play Sunday morning, facing No. 11 Tufts University in the NESCAC semifinals at 9:00 a.m.
