Ephs swept by Grace to end road swing

TUCSON, AZ. -- The Williams College baseball team ended its road trip out West on a down note Sunday, dropping a doubleheader to Grace University, 11-3 and 9-4.

The Ephs concluded their trip to Arizona at 6-5. They are scheduled to host NESCAC and Little 3 rival Wesleyan Friday at 4 p.m. at Bobby Coombs Field in Williamstown.

In the opener, the Ephs took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first when first year Adam Dulsky roped a two-run double that scored Phil McGovern and Adam Regensburg. Grace responded with four runs in the second, three in the third and one in the fourth to build an 8-2 lead.

McGovern's sacrifice fly in the fifth accounted for the Ephs' final run. Williams had four hits in the loss. Beau Horan was 2 for 3 and Lev Schechter 1 for 3.

Nathan Milchalski took the loss giving up four runs, all earned, on three hits and three walks over 1 1/3 innings of work.

In the nightcap, Williams tied the game with a run in the top of the second when Jackson Parese drew a lead-off walk, was sacrificed to second and scored on Horan's single. But Grace responded with three in its half of the second, two in the third and one in the fourth to build a 7-1 lead.

Senior Dyland Griswold got the start and the loss for the Ephs, going two innings and allowing four hits and four runs, two earned.

The Ephs had eight hits in the loss. Schechter was 2 for 3 with an RBI, Horan and McGovern were both 2 for 4 with an RBI.
