First year John Lamont selected NESCAC Pitcher of the Week

HADLEY, MA — Williams College first year John Lamont (Groton, MA) was selected as the New England Small College Athletic Conference's Baseball Pitcher of the Week for play ending April 9.

On Sunday, Lamont hurled a complete-game five-hitter in a 4-1 win over division foe Wesleyan. He struck out 15 batters and yielded just two walks. The lone run he allowed came in the ninth inning and was unearned.

It was the most strikeouts in a game by an Eph pitcher since Harry Marino struck out 12 in seven innings on March 31, 2011.

Lamont has made three starts this season for the Ephs and is currently 2-0 with a 1.89 ERA. In 19 innings he has allowed 12 hits and eight walks while striking out 23 batters.
