CAMBRIDGE, MA — Williams running back Brian Morrissey (Winchester, Mass.) received the Boston Globe Gold Helmet Awards Wednesday at the New England Football Writers luncheon at Harvard’s Dillon Fieldhouse.
Morrissey, a senior tailback, ran like the fullbacks of old on Saturday in a 14-7 win against Hamilton, toting the football 42 times for 201 yards and scoring the game-winning touchdown with 2:12 left in the ball game. Amazingly, Morrissey still managed to average 4.8 yards per carry in the game. Morrissey’s 201 yards accounted for 84 percent of Williams offensive output, as the team totaled 238 yards on the afternoon.
Morrissey is currently only 187 yards away from setting a new
Williams record for career rushing yards.
