HADLEY, MA -- Williams sophomore WR Darren Hartwell (North Reading, MA) has been named the NESCAC Offensive Player of the Week for his role in the Ephs 41-17 win over Middlebury.
On the Ephs first offensive play of the game Hartwell hauled in a pass from senior QB Pat Moffitt and took it 92 yards to pay dirt. It marked the third time this year that Hartwell and Moffitt have combined on TD passes of 83 yards or more.
On the day Hartwell caught five passes for 180 yards (36.0 per catch) and for the second time this season and in his career tied the Eph single game record for TD passes with 3.
Through four games Hartwell has caught seven TD passes, just one shy of the single season Eph record of eight. He has turned his 15 catches this fall into 438 yards for an impressive 29.2 yards per catch.
Hartwell currently leads NESCAC in reception yards (438), TD passes caught (7) and yards per game receiving (109.5).
Hartwell also letters in baseball for the Ephs as an outfielder.
The Ephs are 4-0 and hit the road this week for a game at Tufts University on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
