Frank Stola, Andrew Schreibstein garner NESCAC Weekly Honors

HADLEY, MA — Williams College junior wide receiver Frank Stola (Northport, N.Y.) and sophomore placekicker/punter Andrew Schreibstein (Longmeadow, MA) were handed weekly honors awarded by the New England Small College Athletic Conference for their role in the Ephs' 44-8 victory over Tufts University Saturday. 

Stola was named the Co-NESCAC Offensive Player of the Week while Schreibstein was chosen as the NESCAC Special Teams Player of the Week. 

Stola made 13 catches for 233 yards and four touchdowns in a 44-8 win over Tufts. His four receiving touchdowns broke the Williams single-game record, as did his 233 yards receiving. Stola has 21 career touchdown receptions, tying the all-time mark at Williams.He caught 65 percent of Eph quarterbacks' completions in the win (13 of 20). He caught a 35-yard TD pass in the 1st quarter, a 3-yard fade route for a TD in the second and then a 44-yard bomb, also in the second, before capping his TD receptions with a 24-yard scoring reception in the third quarter. 

Stola currently leads the NESCAC in receptions (19), yards (384), receptions (9.5) and yards per game (192.0) in addition to touchdowns (6). His 20.2 yards per catch in second in the conference. He is also first in the conference with 501 all-purpose yards.

Schreibstein had a perfect day placekicking against the Jumbos, going 3-for-3 in field goal attempts, with a long of 30 yards, and 5-for-5 on extra points. He also punted four times with an average of 41.8 yards per punt, including two kicks downed inside the Tufts' 20-yard line. He is second among NESCAC placekickers with 15 points after two games. 

Williams (1-1) is home Saturday, September 28th at 1 p.m. against Bowdoin.
